About the Maricopa County Annual Air Quality Conference

In an effort to educate Valley businesses and residents about the state of our air quality, the Maricopa County Air Quality Department will hold its annual Air Quality Conference on Tuesday, Oct. 20 at the Scottsdale Resort and Conference Center.  Maricopa County faces a federal mandate to clean up the air, a problem that affects everyone living in the Valley. Not only is poor air quality a threat to our health, it is a threat to crucial transportation dollars coming into the state.  For these reasons, the Maricopa County Air Quality Department will hold a yearly conference to inform the public about ways they can help create more clean air and share its plan to reduce the air pollution.

The Maricopa County Air Quality Department is a regulatory agency whose goal is to ensure federal clean air standards are achieved and maintained for the residents and visitors of Maricopa County. The department is governed by the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors and follows air quality standards set forth by the Federal Clean Air Act.
